Along with being an inquisitive, reflective lifelong learner, Becky Williams is a dedicated and passionate teacher who genuinely values individual differences and seeks out the best in people. With a mission to cultivate lifelong learners who contribute value to the world, Becky orchestrates meaningful and relevant experiences allowing for productive struggle and ownership of learning.
Twenty years as a Texas Public School teacher have afforded Becky with
experiences in teaching every elementary subject in both self-contained and departmentalized settings third through sixth grade as well as pre-kindergarten.
The first seven years of her teaching career took place in CFB-ISD where she differentiated her lessons to meet the individual needs and interests of her diverse student population. She served as 5th Grade Chairperson was a member of the Site-Based Management Team, and served on the Technology Integration Team. After three years of teaching Becky was named Very Important Professional. In 2000 she was awarded a Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership.
In 2007 Becky joined Denton ISD where she still thrives today. In addition to serving on the Campus Leadership Team and as the 5th Grade Team Leader, she has mentored five student teachers from UNT and TWU. In 2017 she led her school to be recognized by TEA with Distinction Designation in Science. In 2018 Becky was selected as Denton ISD’s 2018 Elementary Teacher of the Year. She is currently a 5th-grade science teacher serving on the Assessment for Learning Team, an active member of DISD’s STEM Cohort and Teacher Communication Committee.
